Weird Relations in Animation Media views: 16148

Ahh… love… it’s everywhere, and children’s media is no exception, in fact, sometimes the couples that are in love in these pieces of children’s media are as weird as they come. I’ve taken the liberty of sorting out some of the weirdest ones and listing them here with ten being the least weird of the group and one being totally insane. Some of these couples are more well known than others, while others are ones you probably have never heard of before.

10.Cat and Dog CatDog series depicts the life of conjoined brothers, with one half being a cat and the other a dog.

CatDog series depicts the life of conjoined brothers, with one half being a cat and the other a dog. It revolves around Cat and Dog, who share the same body, and although they are best friends and brothers, they have very different personalities. Cat is very cultured while Dog is very fun-loving and enjoys chasing garbage trucks, chasing cars, and exploring many things in which Cat does not want to take part.

Dog is the more happy-go-lucky and more naïve of the two. He is also the source of clumsiness. He is extremely ambitious when Cat or any other character convinces him to take on a task, diving right into it with full force and energy. Dog is the typical loyal “dumb dog” and is easily convinced. Cat is the smarter, more clever and more cunning of the two. He often devises plans to trick Dog into getting what he wants, such as making Dog smarter in an attempt to have more in common with him, or having him win a dog sledding contest by training him in a very hard and militaristic manner, and usually, as a result of his greediness and selfishness, these schemes all blow up in his face. He is the “underdog” of the two. Life has been hard for the both of them, as they have been shunned by society due to their awkward appearance, but Cat always seems to get the short end of the stick in the situations. Cat’s selfishness has made them go for surgical separation but ultimately it’s the bond of love that makes them bound together forever.

9.Scrat and Scratte Scrat and Scratte, characters from Ice Age 3: Dawn of Dinosaurs.

This one is the most hilarious and cute couple for the list. Scrat is the “saber-toothed squirrel” that appears in the Ice Age film series who is obsessed with acorns, constantly putting his life in danger to obtain and defend them. He has his own stories in the film, independent of the main plot, and is viewed as a breakout character. Scratte is a female saber-toothed squirrel, who debuted in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Through the movie, during Scrat’s attempts to retrieve his acorn, Scratte battles with him in order to steal his acorn. Halfway the movie, she was saved by Scrat from falling into a volcano and she falls in love with him, while both forget about the acorn. However, the relationship didn’t last much as she gets too bossy and the acorn returns to Scrat. Shortly after breaking up, she remained in the Dinosaur World. Only for a stray piece of ice to fall on Scrat, causing his acorn to fall into the Dinosaur World with Scratte, and blocking a path to the Dinosaur World. Scrat screams in frustration having lost both the acorn and Scratte. It is unknown if Scrat and Scratte will be together again.

Scratte is completely the opposite of Scrat. She is cunning, elegant, beautiful and smart. The more pathetic and the more stupid Scrat gets, the more smart and the more cunning Scratte gets. Battling Scrat over the acorn. She appears to be a equally intelligent to Scrat. The amazing part is she is both the Scrat’s rival and girlfriend which makes me put them in this list. And they definitely look cute together so we wish them luck if Saga continues.

8.Spongebob and Patrick Patrick will always be SpongeBob’s loyal buddy.

The old theme applies here “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. Well yeah! Everyone knows of Spongebob and Patrick and the perfect friends they make.

SpongeBob is as optimistic and earnest as a sea-dwelling sponge gets, but he can’t seem to avoid getting himself, and usually everyone else around him, into trouble. While trying too hard, he tends to do things wrong…really wrong…which usually spells “disaster” but Patrick Star – a pink starfish who is SpongeBob’s best friend and neighbor, is always offering his advice and encouragement as they embark on various adventures, which usually get them both in trouble, though things seem to always work out in the end. But, for better or worse, Patrick will always be SpongeBob’s loyal buddy.

7.Kermit and Miss Piggy Kermit and Miss Piggy, the muppet duo.

This is the only puppet duo on the list, or more appropriately the muppet duo. Kids love the muppet show and the elders too. And the duo that Kermit and Miss Piggy make is also more bizarre than many other toony couples which call them here to the list.

Miss Piggy is a pig who is convinced she is destined for stardom, and nothing is going to stand in her way. She presents a public face of the soul of feminine charm, but can instantly fly into a violent rage whenever she thinks she’s insulted or thwarted. Kermit the Frog has learned this all too well since he is the usual target for her karate chops. When she isn’t sending him flying through the air, she is often smothering him in (usually unwanted) kisses.

6.Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd - Looney Tunes.

Okay, the old looney tunes lovers probably know this but the younger generation are unaware of the fact that our these mischievous 2 toons have got married many times around 3 or 4 times, however it’s another side of the story that they have always ended up in drag.

We have always enjoyed the two characters blasting away at each other with shotguns, dynamites, and crossing each other with cross-dressing. Initially when the tunes first came, bugs was portrayed female and had been a love interest for Elmer but we don’t know how Bugs managed to change his gender but once he managed it, he has married a bunch of times with Elmer and all ending up in a “boo” bringing giggles to the little fans who used to see it or see even now.

5.Tiana and Frog Tiana, the Princess and the Frog.

This is an entry in the mold of Disney’s most enduring, classic, fairytale movies, this particular iteration comes with a little more substance than the usual, empty dreaming of true love.

Tiana is a New Orleans waitress with dreams, not of finding a prince, but of owning her own business. But there’s plenty of magic around her, usually getting in the way. Tiana’s plans for success go awry when she bumps into a talking frog who happens to be a prince named Naveen. Naveen recently ran afoul of a dastardly voodoo practitioner called The Shadow Man, a character in the mold of Disney’s evil, magical, villains. Desperate to become human again, Naveen mistakes her for a princess, convinces her to kiss him, and everything backfires dooming Tiana to the same froggy fate as Naveen. Together they race to break the spell and fulfil their dreams and yes it is the matter of “love” again that matters and together Tiana and Naveen join a timeless royal legacy.

4.Roger and Jessica Rabbit Roger rabbit hubby with sharp and sexy Jessica Rabbit.

Premiering in 1988, with groundbreaking interaction between the live and animated characters, and lots of references to classic animation. It’s a story of a man, a woman, and a rabbit in a triangle of trouble. Toon star Roger is worried that his wife Jessica is playing pattycake with someone else, so the studio hires detective Eddie Valiant to snoop on her. But the stakes are quickly raised when Roger is the prime suspect of a murder.

Roger an innocent little rabbit hubby with sharp and sexy Jessica definitely make up to the list with the oddness in chemistry they carry. Although this is a rabbit and hottie twosome with hubby suspecting his wife’s fidelity, this was a great success which brings them here.

3.Gloria and Melman Gloria and Melman, characters from Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

Dead opossum on the side of the road, questions its life and wonders why it never told anyone – how much he loved Gloria.

They always existed since the part one movie in 2005 but the viewers had no clue until this absurd duo became certified in in 2008 when they escaped 2 Africa. Like the audience, the fat hottie Gloria had no clue of the deep affections held by her best friend – her sweet tall steed. Uunaware of his feelings, Gloria, interested in finding a mate, attracts the attention of a smooth-talking but shallow hippo named Moto Moto. Melman is upset about Gloria dating Moto Moto, as Melman has secretly loved her for a long time. Gloria goes on a date with Moto Moto, in a lake, and quickly realizes that he only loves her for her “fat and chunky hotness”.

Back on the reserve, Melman volunteers to be sacrificed having his heart broken and weak to the volcano Gods and manages to win Gloria. She stops him just in time and together they live with their friends a happily ever after. Oh how touchy!

2.Wall-E and Eve The chemistry between Wall-E and Eve.

Premiering in 2008, “Wall-E” surely breaks new ground in terms of animation and kid’s media. It gives us a G-rated, computer-generated cartoon vision of our own potential extinction. Not that “Wall-E” is all gloom and doom. It is, undoubtedly, an earnest (though far from simplistic) ecological parable, but it is also a disarmingly sweet and simple love story. In a world left silent, only one heart beats and that is of Wall-E, a cute little robot . The chemistry between Wall-E and Eve is a cinematic poem of such wit and beauty that its darker implications may take a while to sink in.

Wall-E is a dented little workhorse who, having outlasted his planned obsolescence, spends his days in the Sisyphean, mechanical labor of gathering and compacting garbage. Wall-E’s tender regard for the material artifacts of a lost civilization is understandable. After all, he too is a product of human ingenuity. A research probe named Eve (all of the robot names are acronyms as well as indicators of theoretical gender) drops to Earth and wins Wall-E’s heart. Their courtship follows some familiar patterns. If “Wall-E” were a romantic comedy, it would be about a humble garbageman who falls for a supermodel who also happens to be a top scientist with a knack for marksmanship.

1.Donkey and Dragon Donkey has faced troubles in his relationship with Dragon as she was acting strange in Shrek 2.

Donkey although annoying and obnoxious likes to sing and also has a sweet tooth which made this huge red mama fall for him. And this is exactly how another inter-species couple like Melman and Gloria came into being. After having Dragon accepted has his wife, Donkey has faced troubles in his relationship with Dragon as she was acting strange in Shrek 2, but after the credits, Donkey and the Dragon are reunited and he meets their newborn children Peanut, Parfait, Coco, Bananas and Debbie and they are Dronkeys (hybrids). Donkey is delighted, and dubs the dronkeys “our little mutant babies.”

Some confusion exists as to the missing dronkey from Shrek 2. When the dronkeys were first introduced, there were six total but in Shrek the Thir, there remain only 5; this is a continuity error on the part of the filmmakers. But, however, they mated somehow and even Donkey doesn’t know How? In Shrek The Third when Shrek mentions that he knows how Fiona got pregnant but he just can’t believe it. Donkey responds with a serious “How does it happen?”

Donkey and Dragon are definitely the wackiest, most bizzare and hottest (fire-breathing) on-screen twosome in the kid’s media with those little 5 or 6 dronkeys that brings them to the top of the list.

And Worth-mentioning are: Horton and his Speck, Shaggy and Scooby (Scooby Doo), Garfield and Odie, Manny and Sid (Ice Age), Penguin and Hula doll (Madagascar 2), Arnold and Helga (Hey Arnold!), Robin and Starfire (Teen Titans)
