There is a rumor saying that Marilyn had 6 toes on her left foot, but there is not documentation to support this theory.A story that Marilyn Monroe was born with six toes resulted from the publication of photographs taken by the photographer Joseph Jasgur in March 1946, he supposedly did not notice the extra toe in person or in the photos at the time.
He conveniently ‘noticed’ them 41 years later when he had a book about to come out.. The pictures were published in the book The Birth of Marilyn: The Lost Photographs of Norma Jeane ( 1991) by Jasgur and Jeannie Sakol . Since there is no corroborating evidence from other photographs or written records, the story is commonly dismissed as an urban legend.
Joseph claimed that she was polydactyl with only one extra digit on her left foot, which was supposedly surgically removed early in her Hollywood career. Most of Jasgur's photos remained unpublished for forty years until he assembled them in his book. It was only then that he noticed his photos revealed a previously undisclosed feature of Monroe. A text from his book explains:

" It wasn't until 41 years later when Jasgur was alone in his darkroom making prints of that day's excursion that he noticed something odd about Norma Jean's left foot. She had six toes. A surprising discovery, he thought, but not earth-shaking.He had heard rumors of plastic surgery o her foot as well as nose and chin, but he notes "It's none of my business."
Even though his disclaimer, his publisher made the most of the situation using it as a publicity campaign for his book. Here are the photos:
Two of the pictures can be interpreted as showing six toes, although they can also be explained as tricks of the light. All other pictures show her with only five toes.
Earlier photos, including baby pictures, clearly show the normal number of toes.Marilyn Monroe did not ever in her lifetime have 6 toes on either foot. There is no mention or record that anyone who knew Monroe when she was young have known about six toes, also there is no record of her having surgery at the time nor could she afford it at the time. Moreover, other pictures taken at the same time show a left foot that looks decidedly normal.
